How Can I Locate My Detained Loved One?

If you cannot contact your loved one and fear they have been detained, you should immediately utilize the U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) detainee locator. You can use this tool to quickly locate what facility your loved one is being held in.

To expedite the process, you can use the detained individual’s A-number, the 7- or 9-digit identification assigned to the immigrant by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) when they apply for status. You can also potentially locate your loved one with their name, birth date, and country of birth.

Once you have determined their location, contact the facility to see about visitation and communication rules. If you have not done so, consider speaking to a qualified immigration lawyer who can assist with reconnecting with the detained individual.

How to Pay a Bail Bond for a York Detainee

If a bond hearing has successfully resulted in your loved one being assigned a reasonable bond, you will need to undergo specific steps to pay the amount and secure their release. Bonds cannot be paid at the York Immigration Court or York County Prison.

Instead, the bond will need to be posted at the York Clerk of Courts office, which is located on the 1st floor of the York Judicial Center. The address for the Judicial Center is 45 North George Street, York, PA 17401. Alternatively, bail may be posted at the detainee’s Magisterial District Judge hearing.

Bail may be posted in-person at the Clerk of Courts office between the hours of 8:15AM and 4:00PM local time, 7 days a week, excluding holidays. Bail may not be posted on credit: Only cash or certified checks will be accepted. You may also facilitate payment through a certified bail bondsman, surety company, or bail agent.

Dressed codes and limitations on items you can bring into the facility also apply. You will be subject to visiting hours published on the prison’s website.
