To <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/citizenship\/learn-about-citizenship\/citizenship-and-naturalization\/i-am-a-lawful-permanent-resident-of-5-years\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">qualify for naturalization<\/a>, you must be 18 or older and show that you have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Possessed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/policy-manual\/volume-12-part-f-chapter-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">good moral character<\/a> throughout your life and time here;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Held LPR status for at least five years, or if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosinalaw.com\/family-immigration\/marriage\/\">based on marriage<\/a>, you need LPR status for three years;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Continuously resided in the U.S. for the last five years, or if based on marriage, three years;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Been physically present in the U.S. for 30 months of the last five years, or if based on marriage, you must have been present for 18 months of the last three years; and<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Lived in the state where you apply for at least three months.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, you submit your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/n-400\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Form N-400, Application for Naturalization<\/a>, to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/g-1055?form=n-400\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">application fee<\/a> of $760 (paper filing) or $710 (online filing).
